Football Tournament organised by JKP concludes in Bhaderwah | KNO

In an effort to connect with the youth, Jammu and Kashmir Police in collaboration with G.R.Azad Club Bhaderwah organised a 3 day football tournament with an aim to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship and constructively engage the youth of the area to work towards peace and tranquility in the area and also to tap their raw talent. The tournament in which 6 teams participated was played at College sports ground Bhadarwah, the final match of which was played on Wednesday. On the occasion SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir Khatana was the chief guest while CO RR Col D D Panday and I/C Principal GDC Bhadarwah Dr Javed Iqbal were the guest of honor. ASP Bhadarwah Rajinder Singh presided over the function. The high octane final match was played between G.R. Azad club and Masood Club, who defeated FFC and Bhadarwah Campus in semifinals respectively.In a Nail biting finish in the finals of Bhadarwah football tournament, G R Azad Club defeated Masood Club by 3:0 goal.The goals were scored by Hamza Dar and Fayaz Shapoo, sealed the match in their favour. The match was witnessed by a huge gathering of Bhadarwah town and its peripheral areas. It is to be mentioned that this tournament was organized by the Doda Police with an aim of encouraging peace and harmony in the region. A total of 6 teams participated in this 3 days tournament which commenced on 16th October.While speaking on the occasion, SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir said, "Our aim is to provide a platform to the talented youth to let them locate their hidden skills and utilise their capabilities at the professional level, and Police under CAP is always there to provide them all the help by giving them a platform to perform." "The events are being organized under the direction of DGP to involve the youths in healthy and positive activities and to keep them away from bad habits," SSP added. While appreciating the efforts of Army to boost sporting activities in this hilly region, NCC officer Arif Rana, who also acted as commentator, said, "Police is playing a big role in tapping the raw talent and capabilities of youth of this region and I hope, they will help them to compete at state and national level in future as well."Later, prize distribution function was held in which trophy and medals were presented to winner and runners-up teams by the chief guest. Prominent among those who were present during the concluding function include, Tehsildar Bhadarwah Masood Ahmed, AEE PHE Manzoor Mir, BMO Bhaderwah Yudhvir Singh, SHO Bhadarwah Munir Khan, Aftab Mingnoo, Mujahid Hussain. At the end of event, SDPO Bhadarwah Brijesh Sharma presented vote of thanks to all for making this tournament a grand success.
